Creo que el castellano lo practico bastante bien e incluso me defiendo en inglés. Pero me sacas de esos dos y me pierdo. Es como si mi cabeza no estuviera preparada para meter más información en otro idioma y me bloqueara. Así que os preguntaréis: ¿si eres malo en los idiomas, para qué narices te has puesto a leer Chineasy: expresiones para el día a día? Pues porque nunca está de más intentarlo. A mí siempre me dijeron que quien no arriesgaba, no ganaba, y cuando me dieron la oportunidad de aprender, o al menos acercarme, al chino, no me lo pensé. Cierto es que, si uno se acerca a este libro pretendiendo saber a la perfección el idioma, estará muy equivocado, pero lo que sí se nos ofrece es un primer acercamiento a una lengua que nos es completamente desconocida a algunos para que, al menos lo básico, sepamos bien cómo se escribe y se pronuncia. Y es que como decía, nunca está de más acercarse a un idioma, de la misma forma que nunca está de más acercarse a otro tipo de libros que nos ofrecen cosas diferentes. Shaolan, en su introducción, ya nos explica cómo llegó a crear este método de idioma que, a tenor del éxito que tuvo, le reportó tanto satisfacciones como algún que otro quebradero de cabeza – familiar -. Pero más allá de las experiencias personales, tenemos ante nosotros la oportunidad de ver cómo en el día a día, en chino, en otro idioma, con otra cultura, aprendemos la vida diaria y su Historia. Si eso no es algo que tener en cuenta, yo no sé ya qué más decir. Así como hacer una reseña de una novela no suele resultarme complejo – salvo excepciones -, realizar una de Chineasy: expresiones para el día a día me ofrece la posibilidad – a la vez que la complicación – de escribir una crítica sobre un libro para aprender idiomas. ¿Qué se dice sobre un libro así? Pues en primer lugar: que la accesibilidad al libro hace que uno demuestre mayor interés a la hora de ponerse con él. No son pocas las veces que yo he empezado con algún libro para aprender las nociones básicas de un idioma y he tenido que dejarlo porque, al final, no dejaba de ser una amalgama de ejercicios y gramática aburrida y tediosa. La edición de esta obra de ShaoLan es lo suficientemente atractiva como para que todos queramos acercarnos a ella. En segundo lugar, que no se dedica a darnos explicaciones que se acercan más a un problema de física cuántica que al aprendizaje de un idioma. El lenguaje que se usa es tan cercano como sencillo y, de nuevo, eso se agradece en un libro que ya de por sí nos enseña un idioma complicado para las mentes occidentales como las nuestras. Y finalmente, y no menos importante, me ha parecido un libro para todas las edades. Esto no quiere decir que los niños pequeños, muy pequeños, entenderán lo que dicen, pero sí que es interesante que la forma en la que está construido este método sea interactivo para aquellas edades que se alejen de la edad adulta. Estudiar un idioma es algo a tener en cuenta, sobre todo ahora que parece que el mundo globalizado te pide cada más características a la hora de ser un hombre o mujer completo en materia laboral – y personal -. Por ello, que un libro como Chineasy: expresiones para el día a día se publique y, además, se convierta en un éxito a nivel internacional, no es sólo una buena noticia sino también una oportunidad para todos nosotros. Repetiré, de todas maneras, la importancia de entender que lo que ha creado ShaoLan no es un método para aprender absolutamente todos los entresijos de un idioma sino que se corresponde a los primeros pasos que, como en un baile, todos tenemos que aprender para poder manejarnos después en todas las piruetas habidas y por haber. Si uno, como el que suscribe, tiene en mente eso desde el principio, disfrutará con este aprendizaje y verá que, a pesar de la lejanía y de las costumbres tan dispares que tenemos culturalmente, aprender chino puede ser, además de interesante, muy divertido. Por supuesto solo cubre una pequeña parte de los básicos para este idioma pero sirve para atreverse a ir a más.

Shiro, sabio y mesurado en cuestiones diplomáticas, sin embargo no logrará evitar enamorarse de una joven sevillana malcasada con un aristócrata de poco fiar. Esta apasionada relación le obligará a combatir no pocos peligros y los obstáculos impuestos por los prejuicios y las normas de la sociedad sevillana del siglo XVII. El libro me ha encantado!. Está muy bien escrito. Se lee de una forma tan fácil, amena y conectas inmediatamente con lo que le pasa a los personajes, que no puedes parar hasta que no lo has terminado. Desc: Servei de Publicacions de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona; Edición: 1 (11 de octubre de 2012) Reseña del editor This book is the result of years of experience teaching English to Spanish undergraduates studying for a degree in English Language and Literature. The focus of the book reflects the assumption that a large majority of the mistakes made by advanced-level learners are the result of interference from their native language. The approach adopted in this book is based on the idea that correcting one’s own mistakes involves two separate operations, namely, first recognising the error as such and then providing the correction for it. In the first two thirds of the book, errors are explicitly identified for the learner, whose task is simply to correct the errors. In the final third, however, learners must carry out both operations. It is this two-step approach that the term “guided error correction” tries to reflect. In order to provide sufficient practice, each of the errors –all characteristic of Spanish-speakers learning English– occurs on six separate occasions in the book. In addition, the book includes a section of brief explanatory notes at the back of the book where each of the errors is explained, with Spanish translations provided to enhance comprehension of nuances in meaning. These notes are cross-referenced with each error in the exercises for handy referral, but at the same time represent in themselves a compact reference source for common errors. This book will be useful for upper intermediate to advanced-level Spanish-speaking learners of English in any context, though it has been designed primarily not for systematic consecutive classroom use but rather as a series of self-correcting one-page exercises that can be pursued sporadically at the learner’s convenience. This book is part of a series of three books. Michael Kennedy-Scanlon has an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the School for International Training in Vermont, USA. Since coming to Spain in 1981, he has taught English for the Health Sciences, English for Professional Purposes, and Intercultural Communication in a variety of university contexts. He also does proofreading, author’s editing and occasional translations of academic texts into English. Elisabet Pladevall has an MA in Linguistics from University College London and a PhD in English Philology from Universitat AutÚnoma de Barcelona, where she is currently a lecturer in English language and linguistics. Her areas of specialisation include Second Language Acquisition in immersion and instruction contexts and more recently in CLIL contexts in primary schools. She has also taught English as a foreign language and Business English at several institutions. Juli Cebrian holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Toronto, Canada, and a BA in English Philology from the University of Barcelona. He is professor agregat of English Language and Linguistics at the UAB and has taught English and Spanish as foreign languages and English for Special Purposes at several institutions. His research focuses on language learning, and specifically on the acquisition of English as a foreign language. Este libro, al igual que los otros 3 de la serie, tiene un formato muy práctico que ayuda a identificar y corregir los errores más comunes de los estudiantes de inglés hispanohablantes, y así mejorar nuestro nivel considerablemente al ir directo a los errores más frecuentes: En cada página aparecen 13 frases con un error cada que debemos corregir, y la solución viene justo detrás, así que se pueden hacer mentalmente sin necesidad de escribir nada. Los errores aparecen subrayados a modo de ayuda en la primera mitad del libro y sin subrayar en la segunda. Además, al final del libro viene un apéndice donde se explica el por qué de cada cosa con algún ejemplo adicional por si con los ejercicios no queda del todo claro.Por ejemplo, aparecen ejercicios como:- How do you say...?
