Desc: Joaquín Costa Martínez (Monzón, 14 de septiembre de 1846 – Graus, 8 de febrero de 1911) fue un político, jurista, economista e historiador español, el mayor representante del movimiento intelectual decimonónico conocido como Regeneracionismo, con sus conocidos lemas «escuela y despensa» y «doble llave al sepulcro del Cid para que no vuelva a cabalgar» El clásico de Joaquín Costa permite acercarnos a un tiempo y una época de España que presenta ciertos paralelismos con la actualidad. Un modelo político-económico carcomido y decadente lleva a Costa a una crítica acertada del momento que vivía España. Las posibles soluciones aportadas por Costa ("el cirujano de hierro") han sido tergiversadas con posterioridad, pero en su momento acabaron traduciéndose en justificaciones de la Dictadura de Primo de Rivera.
