En este libro se desmiente la tesis de que los esfuerzos de Francia, y más concretamente, de Lafayette al lado de Washington, son los que dan la victoria a los rebeldes. La sangre y el dinero español puestos a este servicio son los que, finalmente, proporcionan el triunfo. El lector comprobará que le han descorrido el velo que le permitirá comprender mejor la historia de la emancipación norteamericana. Este libro es un sucedáneo de “El día que España derrotó a Inglaterra”. De mis consideraciones:Siempre me ha fascinado la historia de nuestra guerra de independencia contra Inglaterra. No obstante, mientras la intervención de Francia sí se recuerda bien en mi país, la imprescindible intervención de España bajo el mando de don Bernardo Gálvez se fue al olvido por mucho tiempo.Afortunadamente hoy en día los sacraficios de los españoles en nuestra cruenta guerra poco a poco sí se emergen de las sombras del pasado lejano. El formidable y muy bien escrito libro de don Pablo debe servir bien para aleccionar a los americanos y tal vez también a los españoles algo de una historia brava que plenamente merece ser recordada en ambos países.Don Pablo me conviene mencionar no solo tiene un buen dominio de la historia española sino también la nuestra y además al inglés de la época.Atentamente:James (Jaime) BlaisdellGardnerville, NevadaEEUU
